What will I learn?

This course is suitable for anyone wanting to understand the challenges faced by people with hearing loss. It will provide a basic understanding of deafness and covers the following information:

• The categories of Deafness (Hard of Hearing, Deafened, Deaf and Deafblind)
• The barriers D/deaf people face in society 
• Potential solutions to the barriers
• Tips and techniques for communicating with Deaf people

• Interviews with D/deaf people from our community talking about their experiences and the challenges that they face, and how they mitigate them. 
• A short quiz at the end of the module to help you review what you have learnt
• Valuable materials for you to take away to continue your learning and development
